The Story Behind R33 Logistics

Becoming a business owner was something I had dreamed about for years. At 36, I decided it was time to turn that dream into reality and build something of my own — a company based on hard work, reliability and a genuine passion for transport.

Before starting R33 Logistics, I had spent 11 years working for a company within the transport industry. During that time, I gained the experience, knowledge and understanding needed to take the next step and start a business of my own.

I had seen the industry from the inside, understood what customers expect from a reliable transport company and, most importantly, knew what it takes to get the job done properly. After 11 years of learning the trade, I felt I had the experience required to turn my long-standing dream of becoming a business owner into reality.

But the name R33 has a meaning that goes much deeper than just a company name.

The “R” comes from my Grandma’s initial, while “33” was her year of birth. I’ve always considered 33 to be my lucky number, so bringing the two together felt like the perfect way to create a name that had real personal meaning.

There’s another reason the number 33 has always stood out to me. Claudio Caniggia, the Argentinian footballer, wore the number 33 during his time with Dundee FC, the team I support. That made the number even more special to me.

So when it came to naming the business, R33 just felt right. It represents family, memories, luck and something that has always had a personal connection to me.

Starting R33 Logistics has been about much more than simply becoming a business owner. It’s about taking a dream I’ve had for years and turning it into something real — something I can build, grow and ultimately be proud of.

Outside of work, I enjoy making the most of my spare time. I love going on holiday and travelling, playing darts and watching football, especially Dundee FC.

I also believe in giving something back to the local community. In my spare time, I’m involved in fundraising for The Archie Foundation, supporting the fantastic work they do for children and families. It’s something I’m proud to be involved with and a cause that means a lot to me.

I’m also proud to support local children’s football and give something back through sponsorship. I sponsor a local kids’ football team, helping young players enjoy the sport, stay active and develop their confidence and teamwork. Football has always been a big part of my life, so being able to support the next generation and contribute to the local community is something that means a lot to me.

R33 Logistics is the beginning of a journey I dreamed about for a long time. With 11 years of industry experience behind me, a clear vision for the future and a name that carries genuine personal meaning, I’m proud to have taken that step.

At 36, I’m finally living the dream of being a business owner — and this is only the beginning.
